A Cost guide to Cosmetic surgery in Thailand

Cosmetic surgery is one of the most popular medical procedures now. Unfortunately, cosmetic surgeons in the countries of origin of patients who undergo plastic surgery are still often felt lacking so that makes them choose to go abroad.

Besides South Korea, now overseas patients have other options for plastic surgery abroad as well. One of the countries that became the target of Southeast Asia is Thailand. Yes, Thailand has shown rapid development in the plastic surgery industry over the past few decades, not only in the local market but also throughout the world.

Countless foreign patients come to this White Elephant Country every year, especially for cosmetic surgery. It is estimated that plastic surgery in Thailand has earned up to $2 billion from overseas patients, such as countries in Europe, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, and neighboring countries in Asia. Surgeons also believe that this one medical treatment procedure will continue to improve.

Reasons why many people do plastic & cosmetic surgery in Thailand

Plastic surgery procedures are actually not new in Thailand. Besides Bangkok, Phuket is a region in Thailand which is known as a destination for plastic surgery procedures. In Phuket, there are many large hospitals and beauty clinics that offer plastic surgery procedures. It is estimated that in Bangkok and Phuket, many foreign patients attract nearly 1.4 million people each year to do plastic surgery.

Along with the increasing competition in every clinic and hospital that focuses on beauty, the services provided are getting more quality. The health services include services to patients, better facilities and infrastructure, to the sophistication of medical technology equipment.

Now, the question is, what makes plastic & cosmetic surgery so popular in Thailand? Here are some reasons Thailand is the country’s destination for plastic surgery, as quoted by Medical Travel Today.

1. Relatively affordable costs

The cost of treatment or medical care in Thailand is arguably the most affordable if converted in US dollars or Euros. Because, compared to medical treatment procedures in developed countries, Thailand provides relatively cheap prices.

There are several things that make medical treatment procedures in Thailand affordable, one of which is low labor costs. This has resulted in the costs of various medical treatments in Thailand, including plastic surgery procedures being very competitive.

Thailand itself offers plastic surgery costs 50-70 percent cheaper compared to other countries which are also often used as patient references, such as Venezuela, Australia, America, Europe, or South Korea.

No doubt if the patient thinks, rather than taking risks with less qualified surgeons and paying quite expensive fees, it is better to prioritize safety while saving costs by performing cosmetic surgery in Thailand. This is what makes many overseas patients turn to Thailand for plastic surgery.

2. Quality healthcare services

In addition to cost, another reason for international patients to choose Thailand as the destination country for medical treatment is quality health services and facilities. Most people think that the cost is affordable so the quality of health is relatively low, but this is not the case in Thailand. Patients will get high-quality medical procedures at affordable costs.

A number of beauty clinics in Thailand are located in the center of the capital’s business district. They offer aesthetic treatment procedures that are supported by sophisticated and modern medical technology equipment.

Other service factors, such as interactions between doctors and patients and post-operative care, are also important things to consider to make patients feel satisfied. In fact, before going to Thailand, patients can consult with plastic surgeons first regarding the desired treatment procedures.

3. Experienced plastic surgeons

Thailand is a country that is popular with plastic surgery procedures. This stems from the increasing desire of many people, both local communities and international patients, who want to improve their appearance to be more attractive with the help of a scalpel.

From this background, it is not surprising that more and more clinics and hospitals offer plastic surgery procedures in Thailand. Of course, this is also accompanied by an increase in plastic surgery procedure services, one of which is the presence of qualified plastic surgeons.

The best medical professionals in Thailand are dermatology, cosmetic surgery, and reconstructive surgery specialists. They have had many years of flying hours in the field of plastic surgery.

In fact, not a few experts who publish journals in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD) and have received certification from the Thai Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. Thanks to the abilities and expertise of these plastic surgeons, the results of plastic surgery in Thailand provide maximum results because it looks very natural.

4. Medics who are fluent in English

Most plastic surgery clinics in Thailand provide service benefits to overseas patients. Among them doing free online consultation with specialists and plastic surgeons at the clinic, conducting post-operative long-distance consultations without paying extra fees, to the friendliness of the medical staff.

In addition, the large number of overseas patients who come to Thailand for medical treatment makes almost all staff, including expert doctors and nurses, who work in cosmetic clinics fluent in English.

If there are medical personnel who cannot communicate in English, each clinic or hospital will provide language translator services for overseas patients. Not limited to English, language translator services are also present in other languages, such as Japanese, Dutch, Russian, and many others. The presence of language translator services is aimed at making communication between medical personnel and patients smoother and easier to understand.

5. Long-term reputation as a beauty center

Not only South Korea is often associated as a country full of handsome men and beautiful women. The land of the White Elephant also often gets the same opinion. Yes, men and women in Thailand also prioritize their physical appearance. This is what makes plastic surgery procedures in Thailand popular, even though they are not yet a global trend.

The average costs of Cosmetic surgery in Thailand

Some of the plastic surgery actions that are often performed in Thailand are eye bags, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), rhinoplasty, neck contouring, liposuction, liposuction, breast enlargement surgery, breast shrink surgery, and implanting surgery yarn. In addition, there are also sex change operations that are quite popular in Thailand.

Although Thailand has medical care costs that are quite affordable, each clinic and hospital has a range of different costs. Especially for clinics or hospitals that already have international certification, it is not impossible to have higher standard costs.

In addition, the cost of plastic surgery also depends on the type of action taken and a number of other factors. Here is a range of costs for plastic surgery that is popular in Thailand, as quoted from the Placid Way page.
